TRON Virtual Machine (TVM)

The TVM runs the bytecode of every TRON smart contract. It's largely compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, which is why many Ethereum contracts port to TRON with little change.

Each operation the TVM performs has an Energy cost. The total Energy a transaction uses is the sum of those operations — which is why a simple token transfer and a complex DeFi call need very different amounts.
